Salvadoran
Fernando Orellana was born in San Salvador and moved to the United States as a political refugee at the age of five with his family. A media artist, machine designer, and professor of digital art at Union College, Orellana has exhibited his work internationally, including at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. His generative art blends technology with imagination to explore themes such as memory, identity, and the complexities of human experience.
